An atmospheric classic. Drudkh is one of the few bands who can pull off the “nature” sound in black metal.
Melancholy loops. William Basinski’s “The Garden of Brokenness”. Take this all inside, preferably while relaxing/focusing/falling asleep, and be at peace for 51 minutes and 21 seconds.
Continuing a final thought. I love the part at 5:33. It’s like a broken church choir for a death cult. Elysian Blaze has been one of my favorite bands (one guy) since I first heard them nearly 10 years ago. The production reflects the music so well, as it is washed out and leaves me feeling hollow. It feels so far away, yet loud and heavy. Unfortunately, I cannot find the full version of this song on YouTube, but it is worth a post anyway. The last 2-3 minutes of the whole version are beyond words.
Hollow sounds, hollow feelings. This is basically becoming a black metal blog. That’s because the weather is changing, and I usually listen to a ton of black metal or ambient/drone music during the fall winter…Probably due to massive seasonal depression.
